If you're stuck on the Magic Workshop stage in Taskly Quest, you're probably missing one or two specific items that don't spawn in obvious locations. The workshop requires five core collectibles, but three of them share similar visual cues, which makes it easy to grab duplicates while missing the actual required piece.
What You Actually Need to Collect
The Magic Workshop asks for a Crystal Vial, Enchanted Quill, Moonstone Fragment, Brass Compass, and Leather Journal. The Quill and Journal both appear as brown objects on wooden surfaces, so players often pick up the wrong one first. The Moonstone Fragment sits behind a stack of books on the left shelfβnot on the main table where most players start looking.
The Brass Compass is the trickiest. It's partially hidden under a cloth near the window ledge. You need to rotate the camera angle about 30 degrees to the right to see the glint. If you're playing on mobile, pinch-zoom doesn't always register the hitbox correctly, so try tapping slightly above where the object appears.
Common Mistakes That Waste Time
Most guides tell you to "search thoroughly," but that's not helpful when you've already checked every surface twice. The real issue is item priority. Taskly Quest lets you pick up decorative objects that look identical to quest items, and there's no visual indicator until you open your inventory.
If you grabbed the Small Leather Pouch instead of the Leather Journal, you'll need to drop it first. Go to your bag, long-press the pouch, and select discard. The Journal will then become interactive. This isn't explained anywhere in the tutorial.
When the Items Won't Appear
Two scenarios cause missing items. First, if you entered the workshop before completing the Apprentice Dialogue in the previous room, the Crystal Vial won't spawn at all. You have to exit, finish that conversation, then re-enter. Your other collected items stay in your inventory, so you won't lose progress.
Second, the Moonstone Fragment has a known bug on older Android devices where it clips through the shelf model. If you see four out of five items but the fragment counter stays at zero, try restarting the app. That usually forces the object to reload in the correct position.
Should You Use the Hint System?
Taskly Quest offers a hint after three minutes of inactivity, but it costs 50 gems or one ad view. The hint highlights the general area, not the exact object, so it's only useful if you're completely lost. For the Magic Workshop specifically, the hint points to "the study area," which includes about 60% of the room.
If you're trying to avoid ads, the faster method is checking the bookshelf first, then the window area, then the main table. That order covers the three most commonly missed spots and takes about 45 seconds.
Once you have all five items, the workshop door unlocks automatically. There's no turn-in step or additional puzzle. If the door stays locked after collecting everything, check your quest logβyou might be on a different stage than you think.
